Q. How many lessons do I need to take till I can dance?
A.
If you are a total beginner we do advise you to start to train for at least 3 months: once to twice a week. If you are a leader it takes longer then follower normally till you reaches a comfortable level. It also varies with your background: musical knowledge, your country of origin, your physical fitness, your focus and your determination. If you want to speed up your dancing: we advise private lessons. It also depends on your standards.

Q. Do I need a partner to dance with?
A. If you are just taking classes: No. In fact it is great for your learning to dance with different partners: this apply for leader and follower.

Q. What should I wear?
A.
To take lessons: wear something that you feel comfortable with and be prepared to sweat. Bring an extra top (t-shirt) if you tend to sweat easily.
Dance shoes: leaders you can start off wearing your office shoes or any shoes with leather. Eventually purchase some proper dance shoes. Followers: avoid stiletto heels. You can start off with standard heels, but soon followers should also purchase proper dancing shoes with soles that allow you to spin.

Q. Would private lessons improve my dancing?
A.
Yes that will be correct you from the start with fine details so you can achieve a fine technique soon, but you do need to practice. The sooner you start the better so you got no bad habits.

Q. If I train hard can I become an excellent social dancer?
A.
Classes aim to teach you correct technique and a repertoire of moves, but you also got to dancing and apply it all you have learned. They are both interlinked but you still got to PRACTICE, PRACTICE, and PRACTICE with great Masters and get out there dance your socks off till you get better.
