Private Lessons with the Salsa-Tropical Team
What better way of learning Salsa than with private lessons!
Because they are specifically tailored to suit you, you can progress at your own pace, learning as much as you like within each session. If you are worried about joining a group and want to boost your confidence or maybe practice a little first, private Salsa lessons are the way to go.
Whether you are a total newbie to Salsa, want to improve your style or feel like you have two left feet, our private Salsa lessons are the perfect solution! Because we plan your lessons to suit you, the development of your dancing skills will take place gradually and you will always feel comfortable. At the end of your sessions, you will feel happy and not concerned about showing off your Salsa skills in public when dancing with others.
Because our classes are situated in the heart of the City of London, we are so easy to get to. And you don’t necessarily need to be accompanied by a partner so if you feel like dancing, simply book a place with us.
What you learn
Learning privately on a one-to-one basis brings with it so many advantages when compared to dancing in a group. Here are just a few of the things that you will learn during your private Salsa lessons in London:
- Learn the foundation of Salsa, paying attention to your posture, arms, footwork and timing
- Learn correct technique, not just how to move
- Find out what makes people look good on the dance floor
- For the gentlemen, improve your lead
- For the ladies, improve your following
- Be shown how to make your dance flow from move to move
- Improve your music interpretation
By taking private Salsa lessons, you will save time and learn with precision, avoiding picking up bad habits. You will be learning at your own pace but progressing much faster than when with a group. You will receive full personal attention with an emphasis on details, precision, enthusiasm, encouragement, repetition and style.

“Salsa is meaningless when it just becomes a sequence of moves to lead and follow. The social aspect only flourishes when the dancers, leader and follower, are sensitive or present with each other and the music and it will flow as one. Music+ dance+ 2 people as 1. Leaders need to Practice and Practice and Practice!! That is the only way to improve. Leaders/gentleman need to Master your Skill of Leading with precision, clarity, firm, control and ease! It is necessary lots of work/practice to become a fine leader. Followers/ladies need to Practice and Practice and listen to your partner. It is fundamental to develop technique, control, to be able to do spins/turns, partner work, style and musicality. In other words salsa dance should be about connecting = dancing with each other and just flow (for leader and follower). Dancing for me is about feeling. Feeling my partner, feeling the music, being present and having Fun! The best joy of Salsa for me, is to be able to be playfully, sensual, expressive and connect with the music and my partner! The Fine Leader interplays with Music+ Moves and Partner. Listening to the Music is a must for all. Consistency of training and dancing is essential for one’s development.”
